You’re right, we have a lot of cleaning up to do and much better documentation needed.

Can you please make sure and open any issues (if you haven’t already) for worker process? We have a ton of test cases for it. You should check out
http://github.com/appcelerator/titanium_desktop/tree/master/apps/drillbit/Resources/tests/

And specifically for worker: http://github.com/appcelerator/titanium_desktop/tree/master/apps/drillbit/Resources/tests/worker/

On the database, we just need to expose an API to let you know if it’s already available. We tried to follow the same API originally as Google Gears DB API.

Então, tem um tal de Akelos aê, mas tá em alpha ainda, que promete ser um "port" do Rails em PHP.

Eu estou satisfeito com o Rails, mas se houver uma real necessidade de usar PHP, é bom saber o que tá mais próximo do Rails, assim facilita até a migração entre os frameworks.
